Supporting the Paris Agreement

ESA Climate Change Initiative research is exploiting Earth observation satellite data to support progress toward the mitigation and adaptation goals of the UNFCCC Paris Agreement.

Earth observation satellites are crucial for addressing information challenges. Satellites provide the evidence record to strengthen scientific understanding of the climate, identify trends and monitor change.

The research projects below exploit satellite-derived climate data, including records from the ESA Climate Change Initiative, to support stakeholders in the Paris Agreement to design, monitor and report progress toward its mitigation and adaptation goals.
